Arrests made in connection to break-ins across multiple counties
VAN BUREN COUNTY, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - Two people were arrested in conjunction to a series of breaking and entering complaints across at least 3 counties.
Detectives with the Van Buren County Sheriff's Office received a tip regarding the break-ins which led them to find that one of the suspects had allegedly sold some of the stolen items to an unsuspecting Van Buren County business.
Working with several other county agencies, detectives were able to locate the suspects driving a blue 2008 Hyundai Accent, near Bangor.
Detectives made a traffic stop and 34-year-old Lori Ann Evans, from the Bangor area, was arrested on charges of felony receiving and concealing stolen property.
The vehicle was seized and a search warrant was issued for Evans' apartment in Waverly Township.
The search revealed several firearms, electronics, jewelry, and household goods that are believed to have been stolen.
26-year-old David Lee Evans, also from the Bangor area, was also arrested for felony receiving and concealing of stolen property, and felon in possession of firearms.
More stolen property was also found in the vehicle.
Sheriff's deputies have also linked some of the recovered property to break-ins in Osceola, Mecosta, Kent, Allegan, and Van Buren Counties.
Lori Evans was arraigned on the felony receiving and concealing charge, and is being held with a $125,000 bond. David Evans was arraigned on both previously mentioned charges against him and is also being held with a $250,000 bond.
Both are currently in the Van Buren County Jail.
The investigation is ongoing.
