One sentence handed down in Marine memorabilia theft
ALLEGAN, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - One woman was sentenced Monday, and another will reportedly accept a plea deal in mid-October in connection with the theft of a fallen hero's Marine memorabilia.
Lorrie Lynn Jamieson was charged with accessory after the fact, and Lisa Marie Keech was charged with larceny, home invasion, and breaking and entering in the theft of several items from the home of Joe Courtney.
Joe's son Gregory Courtney was a Marine who was killed in a crash in 2011 after coming home from Afghanistan.
Jamieson was sentenced to 180 days in jail, 250 hours of community service, and 18 months of probation on her charge of accessory after the fact.
Joe Courtney tells Newschannel 3 that the community service will be with the Veteran's Affairs Office.
Keech is scheduled to take a plea deal on October 16th.
It was also required by the presiding judge that the women return any stolen items to Courtney during the probation period.
