Grand Haven schools will recall all 10 laid off teachers
GRAND HAVEN, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - New budget estimates for the upcoming school year are allowing Grand Haven Public Schools to recall all 10 teachers who were laid off in June.
The district's superintendent says the delay of the federal Affordable Care Act, along with staff members retiring and increased revenue reimbursements for special programming, have allowed the district to retain those teachers.
Assistant Superintendent of Human Services Scott Grimes says he is expecting to do some hiring as well before the school year begins.
