Holland considers allowing honeybees
HOLLAND, Mich. (AP) - Officials in the West Michigan city of Holland are considering whether to allow people to keep honeybees within city limits.
The Holland Sentinel reports the issue was raised earlier this year, when a resident asked City Council to allow them. That was rejected by the Planning Commission, but requests that were renewed last month prompted City Council to look at it again.
Proposals being considered would allow bees either on any property or on properties with a lot size that's bigger than 8,000 square feet.
