Zeeland woman killed after her van is struck by lumber truck

OTTAWA COUNTY, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) – Police say a Zeeland woman has died following a crash involving a van and truck.

Police say 75-year-old Theresa Devries of Zeeland was heading southbound on 112th Avenue in Holland Township and stopped for the red light at Chicago Drive.

After stopping for several seconds, police say her van rolled out into the intersection and was struck by a flatbed lumber truck that was heading west on Chicago Drive.

The truck struck Devries’ van in the driver’s side door. She had to be cut from her van and was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.

The Ottawa County Sheriff’s Department is looking into any possible medical issues Devries may have had.
