GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - We're learning more this Wednesday morning about a stabbing investigation in Grand Rapids. At approximately 9:30 Tuesday night police got a call that a man had been stabbed in the 900 Block of Jefferson Avenue SE. He was transported to St. Mary's for treatment.
Another call was received moments later that a vehicle had crashed into a church at Jefferson and Highland Street SE.
When officers arrived they found the two occupants had injuries related to an assault and not a vehicle crash.
The driver of the vehicle was also transported to St. Mary's. The passenger was taken to Butterworth Hospital with a potentially life-threatening stab wound.
There is no word on their conditions as of 7am.
Grand Rapids Police are still investigating and are asking anyone who may have information about the altercation to call Police or Silent Observer.
