Driver injured when semi bursts into flames

MARSHALL, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - A semi-truck driver was injured Tuesday morning when his semi burst into flames.

Paul Aden witnessed the incident. He tell Newschannel 3 the driver singed his hair in the flames and suffered from smoke inhalation.

"I think he's kind of in shock from watching his truck burning up and everything" Paul says. "I didn't know what to do so I basically had to put him in my truck, get him warm so he wouldn't get cold and have anything else going wrong."

Aden goes on to say the truck was broken down on the ramp and when the driver tried to get it started it caught fire.

The I-94 off ramp at Mile Marker 110 was shut down for several hours while crews cleaned up hot spots.

The investigation is still ongoing.
