Kalamazoo woman first winner of Pothole Pocketbook contest
KALAMAZOO, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - A West Michigan woman is getting some help patching up her bank account after hitting a pothole.
Nicole VanPutten of Kalamazoo is the first winner of the Michigan Transportation Team's Pothole Pocketbook contest.
She says her husband hit a pothole on his way to work and did $700 worth of damage to their car.
Every week through April 5, the Transportation Team will choose a random winner of up to $500 to offset pothole-related repairs.
