Deputies: Former employees auctioned off items from storage facility

COMSTOCK PARK, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) – Deputies in Kent County are investigating the theft of a large amount of personal property that was taken from a storage facility.

Investigators say that it happened last year at the Evergreen Storage Facility on Alpine Ave.

Deputies think that former employees illegally entered and stole items from several storage units. Police say that the same people then auctioned the items off on October 3rd.

Several victims have been identified, including Grand Rapids Griffins player Gustav Nyqueist, who lost his game puck from his first goal as a Red Wing.

Detectives say that they recovered that puck and several other items during their investigation.

Investigators want tenants of the facility to check on their items and to submit a list of anything that is missing. If you think you may have been a victim, contact the Kent County Sheriff's Dept. at 616-632-6125.
