Grenade, CO2 cartridge found in garage in Gobles
GOBLES, Mich.
(NEWSCHANNEL 3) - The Van Buren County Sheriff's Department has
responded to a report of a grenade found in a detached garage near a
house in Gobles.
The house in the 100 block of State Street, is a rental that is currently unoccupied.
The
owners were in the process of cleaning the home for incoming renters,
when a grenade and a carbon-dioxide cartridge were found in a bag in the
garage.
The grenade was described as a World War II pineapple-style device.
The device was taken to Grand Rapids where it was safely dealt with in a controlled environment.
