WEST MICHIGAN (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - The cost of cleaning up the massive oil spill in the Kalamazoo River is now approaching $1 billion.

Enbridge Energy Partners reported in its annual report that the company had to spend $825 million on cleaning up the Kalamazoo River after that spill in the summer of 2010.

Now, the Environmental Protection Agency has ordered the company to do more dredging, which could cost up to an additional $175 million, bringing the total just under $1 billion.
