Slick roads bring slide-offs, cruiser hit
KALAMAZOO COUNTY, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - It was a very busy morning for police and fire crews along I-94 in the Portage-Kalamazoo area.
There were dozens of crashes, including one where a Portage police cruiser was clipped by a car that slide off the highway.
The officer involved was taken to the hospital to be treated for minor injuries.
At one point dispatchers tell us they had seven crashes all on the westbound side of the highway.
A number of people were taken to the hospital, but all are expected to be okay.
All the crashes happened during the busy morning rush.
