Suspect in Climax bank robbery withdraws guilty plea

CLIMAX, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - Investigators have new information in a Climax bank robbery.

MLive is reporting that the prime suspect had a change of heart during a sentencing hearing Monday in Kalamazoo County.

Michael Mitchell pleaded guilty in January to holding up the Sturgis Bank and Trust last September.

Monday, however, he withdrew that guilty plea when the judge said he would not honor a plea agreement.

According to MLive, Mitchell is free on bond at this moment.

A trial date has not yet been set.
