Autopsy rules Ottawa Co. teen's death 'homicide'

OTTAWA COUNTY, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - Autopsy results came in Monday for an Ottawa County teenager who died following what police say was a game of Russian roulette.

16-year-old Brandon Kuiper died Thursday afternoon.

Deputies say his friend, 18-year-old Richard Usher, shot him in the face at Usher's home in Tallmadge Township on Wednesday night with a .22 caliber handgun.

A forensic autopsy was performed early Monday, and the medical examiner ruled Kuiper's death a homicide.

Usher is in jail, charged with one count each of attempted manslaughter and felony firearms.

His bail is set at $350,000.
