Suspected thief tracked down in Grand Rapids
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - A suspect is behind bars after he led police on a foot chase in Grand Rapids.
Police say an alarm went off at Padnos Iron and Metal. When they got there the suspect got into a truck, but then jumped out and ran away.
Police say the suspect was trying to steal car rims. They found several rims were thrown over a fence and more stacks were ready to be tossed over, but the suspect left everything there when he took off.
A K-9 unit was brought in to track the suspect who was found in the 100 block of Straight Avenue.
