31 alleged members of Latin Kings gang indicted

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - The U.S. Department of Justice announced on Tuesday the indictment of 31 alleged members and associates of the Latin Kings gang in Holland on a variety of charges.

A federal grand jury indicted the suspects on charges ranging from racketeering to firearms charges and conspiring to distribute cocaine and marijuana.

The charges reportedly stem from a joint federal and state investigation that dates back to 2010, but authorities say that this bust was 20 years in the making.

Seven alleged members were arrested over the summer, in what was called a sort of kickoff to the operation.

They are currently facing grand jury trial in Grand Rapids.
