Facing charges for filming sexual assaults

WEST MICHIGAN (NEWSCHANNEL 3) – The former executive director of Kalamazoo’s Hispanic American Council is facing serious charges, accused of videotaping a teen getting sexually assaulted and then selling the videos online.

According to a federal complaint, 40-year-old Ramon Berlanga-Rodriguez is charged with two counts of first degree criminal sexual conduct and producing child sexually abusive material, among other charges.

The victim told police that Berlanga-Rodriguez molested her from late 2010 to early 2012.

The feds have taken over the case; Berlanga-Rodriguez is now awaiting trial.
