Walker Police hold fund-raising ride-a-thon

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - A local police department is raising money to participate in a good cause.

The Walker Police Department is trying to raise a little over $5,000 so four of its officers can take part in the Police Unity Tour Ride in May.

It's a 4-day bicycle ride from New Jersey to Washington, D.C.

The tour brings public awareness to law enforcement officers who have died in the line of duty and makes sure their sacrifice will never be forgotten.

Friday, officers held a ride-a-thon fundraiser at the Free Wheeler Bike Shop in Grand Rapids.

If you'd like to show your support for the cause, donations are being accepted at the Walker Police Department.
