Town hall meeting called over Palisades
KALAMAZOO, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - There is a special town hall meeting Wednesday night in Kalamazoo regarding the Palisades Nuclear Power Plant.
A national organization called Beyond Nuclear is teaming with local organizers. They say they want to bring people together to raise awareness about the plant and its current situation.
Organizers say they also want to brainstorm strategies toward shutdown and radioactive waste issues.
They say Palisades is old, unsafe and should be shut down.
That meeting is open to the public. It starts at 6:00 pm at the Kalamazoo Public Library.
