Detective: Livingston's story changed several times

KALAMAZOO, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - The lead detective in a high-profile murder case says one of the suspected killers has changed his story multiple times.

Antonio Livingston is currently standing trial, charged with the murder of Bob Medema, who was beaten to death in August.

Livingston is one of the two men charged in Medema's death.

In court Wednesday, the detective said during a seven hour interview with Livingston, his memories of what happened kept changing.

At first, Livingston denied any involvement at all, and he had no idea what happened.

He finally told detectives that he was with John Aguilar that night in August, and watched the businessman be hit repeatedly with both a baseball bat and vacuum.

Detectives told jurors that even this last story didn't add up.

Part of a taped interview will be played in court Thursday at 9:00 a.m.

Defense attorneys are expected to start calling their witnesses Thursday as well.
