State of Mich. giving out $2.5M to prevent AIDS

LANSING, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - The Michigan Department of Community Health is giving out nearly $2.5 million to help prevent AIDS in Michigan, and a lot of that money is coming to West Michigan.

In Kalamazoo, the Community AIDS Resources and Education Services, or CARES, will get more than $261,000.

The Grand Rapids Red Project will get almost $104,000.

McLee's Clinic in Muskegon will receive $101,000.

The money will help pay for targeted HIV prevention services in those communities.
