Public safety officers set to face off in 'Battle of the Badges'
KALAMAZOO, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - Officers from Kalamazoo Public Safety and Portage Public Safety are set to face off at Wings Stadium in two weeks.
Tickets are now on sale for this year's Battle of the Badges hockey game.
The event is to raise money for the Cuff and Ladder Fund, which helps emergency responders and their families who have fallen on hard times.
"This event last year raised around $5,300, so it's a significant portion of what we hand out," said fund director Jed Wild. "Normally, we give out $20,000 to $25,000 worth of assistance to Kalamazoo County alone."
The puck will drop at 6:00 p.m. on February 23rd.
