Casteel sentenced for freeway shootings

OAKLAND COUNTY, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - A man who shot at cars along a Michigan freeway will spend at least six and a half years in prison.

Raulie Casteel was sentenced Tuesday in Oakland County, one of two counties he was convicted in.

For about two weeks in the fall of 2012, Casteel fired at random cars along I-96. No one was seriously hurt.

He pleaded guilty, but mentally ill, to assault and firearms charges in Oakland County.

Last week he was convicted of terrorism charges in Livingston County. He faces up to life in prison in that case when he's sentenced early next month.
