Mich. group wants more student field trips

(NEWSCHANNEL 3) - The Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural Affairs wants students to take more field trips.

It's making $55,000 in grants available for buses this school year.

Nearly 150 Michigan schools are getting up to $500 each for educational trips.

The Michigan Youth Arts Association says 45 percent of schools can't take field trips due to transportation costs.
