Fast food workers demand wage increase

(NEWSCHANNEL 3) - Fast food workers in 100 cities across the nation are expected to walk off their jobs Thursday as part of a protest.

The protests are in an effort to raise workers' wages to 15-dollars an hour.

Workers argue they can't live off the current wage which is nearly half that.

The restaurant industry says higher wages will lead to steeper prices for customers.

Two strikes are scheduled to begin at 6:00 Thursday morning in southeast Michigan.
