Snyder, lawmakers argue over rainy day fund
LANSING, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - Governor Snyder and state lawmakers are butting heads over how much money to set aside in the state's savings account.
The Rainy Day Fund was empty when Snyder took office after a decade of job losses and budget crises.
He has already built it up to more than $500 million, but he wants to add another $75 million.
However, as the Senate moves to approve the budget next week, they aren't leaving room for leftovers.
Lawmakers say that money should go to other priorities.
They plan to negotiate the issue next month.
