Islamic leader says kidnapped girls will remain as slaves

NIGERIA (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - Nigeria's Islamic extremist leader says the nearly 300 teen girls kidnapped from their school three weeks ago will remain slaves with his group.

Alarming new video released shows the head of the group, Boko Haram, saying quote, "I abducted your girls."

The leader also threatens to attack more schools and abduct more girls.

Boko Haram says it is against educating girls.

The White House said it's offering investigators counterterrorism and logistics support.

"We are doing what we can to assist the Nigerian government to support its efforts to find and free the young women who were abducted," said White House Secretary Jay Carney.

Police say some 53 of the girls kidnapped April 15th were able to escape.
