Owner of Los Angeles Clippers called out for racist comments

(NEWSCHANNEL 3) - Los Angeles Clippers Owner Donald Sterling isn't playing much defense, even though many are attacking him for racist comments he's now accused of making.

The comments were released from what is alleged to be an audio recording sent to his girlfriend V. Stiviano.

TMZ says it was a picture of Magic Johnson and Stiviano that sparked the remarks.

Sterling: "And why are you taking pictures with minorities? Why? You can sleep with them. You can bring them in. You can do whatever you want. The little I ask you is not to promote it on that and not to bring them to my games."

"I think he should step down. If you feel like that in a league that is predominately African Amercians, you shouldn't be owning a team," said Magic Johnson.

The LA Clippers warmed up for their playoff game in Oakland with their shirts turned inside-out, hiding the team's logo as a silent protest.

The NBA says it is looking into the allegations.
