Search for missing plane winding down

INDIAN OCEAN (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - Thursday could be the last day for planes and ships to conduct their surface search for part of the missing Malaysian Airlines plane.

The mission will cover a more than 15,000 mile patch of sea in the Indian Ocean about 1,400 miles northwest of Perth, Australia.

Meanwhile, data collected by a robotic submarine is being analyzed now that the sub has completed its first full 16-hour mission.

The sub was searching the ocean floor in an area where pings were reported from two black boxes.
