8 killed in mudslides in Washington State

WASHINGTON STATE (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - The desperate search for survivors from of a massive mudslide in Washington State continues Monday.

So far the number of people confirmed dead is eight, but could still rise.

Rescue crews found more bodies overnight in the mess of mud and sludge left behind by Saturday's huge landslide.

Many others are still missing right now.

More than 100-people will continue the search for survivors Monday on the ground and in the air.

The slide destroyed at least 30-homes in the tiny rural town of Oso about 55-miles north of Seattle.

Washington's governor has declared a state of emergency.
