Razor blades glued to playground equipment

EAST MOLINE, Illinois (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - Police and parents are concerned about some vandalism at a community playground.

Officers in East Moline, Illinois say someone glued razor blades to equipment at one of the city's playgrounds.

The blades were glued onto the equipment with a white, putty-like substance.

They were discovered after a 2-year-old cut his hand.

"East Moline parks are safe, but it's just a bad situation, bad instance where somebody, or maybe a group of kids, I don't know who did this, but figured this would be a fun prank to do," said Lt. Brian Foltz.

Officers checked other parks in the city, but thankfully, nothing was found.

Parents say they will now keep a better eye on the equipment to protect their children.
