DENSE FOG ADVISORY

Until 11 AM

The National Weather Service in Grand Rapids issues a DENSE FOG ADVISORY until 11 AM for nearly every county in West Michigan save for our Indiana bordering counties of Berrien, Cass, St. Joe, and Branch.  It doesn't mean it won't be foggy there!  The combination of yesterday evening's rainfall, light winds while you were sleeping, and our unusually cool airmass is a near perfect recipe for visibilities under a mile and perhaps as low as 1/4 mile.  This is enough to change how you drive.  Please keep it safe this morning, and slow it down if you can.  Stay with wwmt.com for your weather!

Winter storms across much of the northeast

(NEWSCHANNEL 3) - It's not just Michigan experiencing Mother Nature's frigid grip.

Blizzard and winter storm warnings are in effect for much of the northeast Thursday.

The heaviest snow is expected to fall Thursday night into Friday. Up to a foot or more is expected in Boston and the greater New York area.

But folks say they are prepared.

"I have a 9 horsepower snow blower. I have three new bags of salt. I have two shovels and two sons," said Gordon Bell of New Rochelle, New York.

The storm has already caused major problems across the Midwest. As much as a foot of snow fell in some parts of Chicago, prompting hundreds of flight cancellations.
