Death toll in South Sudan likely topped 1,000

SOUTH SUDAN (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - The United Nation's Humanitarian Coordinator says the death toll from a week of violence in South Sudan has likely surpassed 1,000 people.

The U.N. official says some 3,000 foreigners are still trapped in the city of Bor, which could see increased violence in the coming days.

Many fear South Sudan is on the verge of civil war.
