Man facing charges after accidentally igniting wife at gas station
CLARKSVILLE, Ga. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - A Georgia man is facing criminal charges for accidentally setting fire to his wife at a gas pump.
The terrifying incident was all caught on surveillance camera.
The couple was re-fueling last month when you can see the man flick what police say was a cigarette lighter near his truck's gas tank.
It immediately sparked flames.
The man then pulls the nozzle out of the car, shooting gas and fire onto his wife.
She suffered second and third-degree burns.
Her husband is now facing a misdemeanor reckless conduct charge--which carries a punishment of up to a year in prison and $1,000 fine.
