Rebuilding continues after Superstorm Sandy
(NEWSCHANNEL 3) - One year after Superstorm Sandy devastated the northeast, people are still trying to rebuild.
Sandy is the second costliest weather disaster in United States history after Hurricane Katrina, with a price tag at an estimated $50-billion.
Many residents are still trying to get back into their homes, whether they were buried under the winds, damaged by flooding or the massive electrical fire.
"I don't' know how to explain it, there's nothing normal. You don't even walk down the walk and say hello to anybody just how you doing? Are you in yet? Did you get your kitchen? It's all about getting home," said Richard Resner.
Sandy's impact was so devastating that the name has been retired from the storm names list, which gets reused every six years.
It will be replaced with Sara beginning in 2018.
