Fur ban goes into effect in West Hollywood
WEST HOLLYWOOD, Calif. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - Animal activists are rejoicing as clothing goes cruelty free in California.
It is now a crime to sell fur clothing in West Hollywood.
The ban went into effect on Saturday.
Retailers claim the new law damages the city's reputation as a fashion capital, but like it or not, if a store violates the ban more than 3 times in a year, they will get a misdemeanor.
Some stores are planning to move their fur merchandise outside of the city limits to avoid penalty.
