FAA considers allowing some electronics during takeoffs, landings
WASHINGTON, D.C. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) Monday, the Federal Aviation Administration will consider new recommendations to ease restrictions on airline passengers use of smartphones and tablets during takeoffs and landings.
The recommendations are coming from a 28-member committee that met in a closed door meeting last week.
It would allow for reading e-books, listening to music, watching movies and playing games.
However, making calls or surfing the internet will still be forbidden.
The FAA will have to approve the recommendations and it could be months before they are put into effect.
