New York developer designs world's first 'wellness residence'

NEW YORK (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - A New York developer is ona  mission to establish a new set of guidelines for buildings in order to promote healthy living.

The result is the world's first wellness residence--or, if you like, the Feel Good Apartment.

The New York penthouse is nearly 8,000 square feet, has 4 bedrooms and 4 baths.

It's outfitted with purified air, vitamin C infused showers, light therapy, and posture perfect flooring.

"Look, we spent 92 percent of our time indoors--our homes, our offices, our schools--and we need to pay attention to what these indoor structures are doing to the health and well-being of ourselves, of the health of the occupants of these buildings," said Paul Scialla, the founder of Delos Living.

A healthy home comes with a hefty price tag, though.

The going price for the apartment is $50 million.

The developer behind the wellness residence hopes it will become the new standard for the way we live.
