Texas father uses pumpkin to express displeasure with shutdown

CARROLLTON, Texas (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - Frustration over the government shutdown has taken several forms--protests, letters, and now the controversy is even seeping into Halloween festivities.

A Texas father and his two sons poked a little fun at the crisis with their jack-o-lantern.

They carved half of a pumpkin, then printed out a sign.

The sign reads, "Due to the government shutdown, work on this pumpkin has been temporarily halted."
