The National Weather Service in Grand Rapids maintains a LAKE EFFECT SNOW ADVISORY for Ottawa, Allegan, Van Buren, Kalamazoo, Berrien, Cass, and St. Joe counties until 9 PM.  An additional 1" to 4" of snow are possible on northwest winds of 15 to 20 mph; icy roads are verified by several road reports.  Please be careful traveling as lows dip into the teens tonight; wind chills will be in the single digits.

N.C. shelter promotes cats as safeguard against zombie apocalypse

RUTHERFORD COUNTY, N.C. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - An animal shelter in North Carolina has come up with a very clever way to adopt out their pets.

They're claiming that a zombie apocalypse could happen at any  minute, and the proper way to prepare is by adopting a cat.

The Rutherford County shelter says they have received a shipment of kittens and cats that are able to repel zombies.

They've also promised a full refund if a zombie ever makes it pas the cat and invades your home.
