Christina Anthony swapped one beach for another in June of 2015. She joins the News Channel 3 team after spending nearly three years forecasting for coastal North Carolina. Christina tracked everything from thunderstorms to hurricanes during her time at WWAY-TV and is happy to experience weather of a different variety in western Michigan.
Don't be fooled; Christina is no stranger to snow! She grew up in Greensburg, Pennsylvania and earned her Bachelor of Sciences in Meteorology from The Pennsylvania State University in 2012. She quickly arrived in Wilmington, North Carolina later that year and was named Best Weathercaster 2nd Place by the Radio Television Digital News Association of the Carolinas by 2014.
Forecasting for an area in close proximity to a big body of water is always a challenge. For starters, it creates considerable differences in temperature and precipitation totals. Christina would often forecast temperatures in southeastern North Carolina that varied by more than 10 degrees over a span of forty miles thanks to the Atlantic Ocean! She's eager to continue forecasting these complexities at the hands of Michigan's own Great Lakes.
Speaking of lakes, Pure Michigan has quite a few--and that makes Christina happy. Why? In her spare time, Christina loves kayaking with her fiance and running through nature trails. She has a lot to explore here and hopes you'll share your favorite spots with her on Facebook and Twitter. There, you'll find a healthy balance of weather information and pictures of Shark, Christina's lovable cat.
