LOS ANGELES (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - In California, Donald Sterling is hoping for a rebound shot.

A judge ruled Monday against the Clippers owner, clearing the way for the $2 billion sale of the team to ex-Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer.

Donald's estranged wife Shelley sought court approval for the deal after the 80-year-old billionaire was banned by the NBA for making offensive remarks.

Sterling says he will fight the NBA and sale of the team to his death.
