WMU not seeing much love at MAC Media Day
DETROIT (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - WMU Head Football Coach P.J. Fleck rowed the boat over to Ford Field on Wednesday for the Mid-American Conference media day festivities.
As you can imagine, the Broncos--coming off a 1-11 campaign, were not receiving much love in the preseason media poll.
WMU was picked to finish fifth in the West, despite returning a number of impact players, and the addition of the highest ranked recruiting class in MAC history.
Eastern Michigan, however, was picked to finish last in the division.
On top of the preseason polls was Toledo edging Northern Illinois in the West. Ball State and Central Michigan also finished ahead of the Broncos.
Meanwhile Bowling Green was picked to not only win the east, but to win the MAC Championship game.
Akron and Ohio round out the top 3 in the East, followed by Buffalo, Kent State, Miami(Ohio) and UMass.
