Bronco RB earns MAC West honors in Wk. 1

KALAMAZOO, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - In college football news, WMU freshman running back Jarvion Franklin has been honored as the MAC West Offensive Player of the Week, following his 163 yard, 3 touchdown debut in Saturday's loss at Purdue.

Franklin's 163 yards were the most in the conference, and third most for any freshman nationally.

The Illinois native averaged a ridiculous 8.6 yards per carry, including a 61-yard touchdown run.

Franklin also scored on runs of 5 and 26 yards in the 43-34 loss to the Boilermakers.
