Broncos kick off spring football practices

Updated: Tuesday, March 19 2013, 09:22 PM EDT
KALAMAZOO, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - You'd have to go back a while to find a time when spring football felt so much like the middle of winter.

Nonetheless, those were the conditions on Tuesday as Western Michigan held its first practice under new coach PJ Fleck.

We're told that the team went through a brisk, two-hour workout.

After running and gunning since December to finish recruiting and getting a staff in place, Tuesday was a welcome change.

Fleck gets his first real look at the team he inherits from former coach Bill Cubit.
