WMU students voting on future of student media

KALAMAZOO, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - It's a big day for Western Michigan Univeristy.
Students have just a few more hours to vote on whether to keep student-run media on campus.
Students have been voting all week on whether to raise their tuition five-dollars per semester.
If students approve it, it would bring in about $125,000 each semester for the Western Herald, WIDR and the Young Broadcasters of Tomorrow.
If it passes the three media groups will merge into one umbrella organization that will share resources, equipment and some staff.
We'll be on campus Friday night as voting ends. Look for a live report at 5:00.
