KALAMAZOO, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) – Police in Kalamazoo are investigating after a bank was robbed Saturday afternoon.
Police tell Newschannel 3 that they were called to the First Community Credit Union near the intersection of Westnedge and North Street around 11:45 for the report of a bank robbery.
Police say a man entered the bank and waited in line before handed the teller a note demanding money.
Police say no weapon was seen. An undisclosed amount of money was turned over to the suspect who fled the scene, taking the note with him.
The suspect fled north, KDPS attempted a track with a K9 unit, which they followed to W. Frank and Cooley Street before losing the track.
The suspect is described as a dark skinned black male between 24 and 30 years old, weighing 175 to 195 pounds standing approximately 5'10" tall.
He was wearing a dark blue or black zippered hooded sweatshing, blue jeans and dark colored shoes.
