UPDATE: Mattawan man burned to death after early morning crash

UPDATE CALHOUN COUNTY, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) -- We now know the name of the man killed after crashing a truck into a tree.
The Calhoun County Undersheriff tells Newschannel 3 32-year-old Michael Anthony Delaney was killed. Preliminary investigation shows alcohol and speed appears to be a factor in this deadly crash.
CALHOUN COUNTY, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) -- One person is dead after crashing a truck into a tree.
It happened around 2 a.m. this morning on East Michigan Avenue and 22 1/2 Mile Road in Marshall.
Police tell Newschannel three the driver was heading east down East Michigan Avenue when the Dodge Ram drove off the road.
The truck smashed into a tree and burst into flames.
Calhoun County Sheriff's deputies worked to put out the flames, but the fire reportedly restarted several times.
The driver, who is currently not being identified, survived the crash but died from the fire.
The cause of the crash in unknown at this time.
