Update: Body found in Grand River was missing woman

KENT COUNTY, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) – Newschannel has confirmed a woman's body was recovered in the Grand River Tuesday night.
Police tells us Kayakers spotted the body and called 911 just before 8:00 p.m.
Newschannel 3 has confirmed that the body is that of Mary Tornga, who went missing early Sunday morning.
Investigators brought in a coroner and took them to the body by boat.
They say they are treating the entire area as a crime scene.
The body was found in the river in the area of I-196 near Market Avenue.
The results of an autopsy performed Wednesday morning are pending. Officers from the Wyoming and Grandville Police Departments are conducting a joint investigation into the circumstances surrounding Tornga's death.
