HOLLAND, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) – Police say they have arrested two men after a violent home invasion and robbery Saturday morning.
Police say they were called to the 200 block of West 14th Street shortly after 8:00 am Saturday where they were told that two men had entered the home, threatening the victims with a handgun and demanding cash.
The victims say that when they were unable to provide cash, one of the men assaulted the male victim. The suspects then fled the residence with a large television.
The victims were able to provide police with a vehicle description as well as the name of one of the suspects, who they had met about a week before.
About a half-hour later officers with the South Haven Police Department and the Allegan County Sheriff’s Office stopped the vehicle on I-196 near South Haven.
The victims were able to assist in identifying the two subjects, both of whom were taken into custody.
Officers say a search of the vehicle revealed the handgun used in the crime as well as the television that had been taken.
The victim who was assaulted was treated and released from Holland Hospital.
The suspects a 20-year-old male from Holland and a 21-year-old from South Holland, Illinois, are expected to be arraigned next week.
